Galil Open Day Pesach 2015 – The Gallery

April 9, 2015 | Israel Experiences, See UJIA

67 members of the UK community joined the Pesach Galil Day, exploring the northern city of Akko and the educational projects UJIA (United Jewish Israel Appeal) supports there. Starting at the Al Manara Jewish/Arab integrated Bilingual School, the group met mentors from the Youth Futures initiative, and had the chance to play football with kids on the co-existence Equalizer programme. They also met with Arab girls doing their National Service on the Ma’ase initiative, which helps narrow gaps between Jews and Arabs in the Galil.

‘We really enjoyed the Galil Trip yesterday & want to thank everyone,in both Israel & the UK, for the effort in ensuring everything ran to schedule. Please ensure our views are passed on. The projects which were demonstrated so clearly to us are all designed to help integrate those who have a difficult &/or unfortunate early life & it was most evident that very many benefit.’
