Lion of Judah Ambassador Reception
Following the successful relaunch of Lion of Judah UK by UJIA in January, Ambassador Mark Regev has presented the Lions with the signature Lion brooch and a certificate to honour their philanthropic work. The event was hosted by the Ambassador at his official residence, and guests heard from Shoshana Boyd Gelfand, as well as Lion of Judah UK Chair and UJIA trustee, Karen Goodkind.
Karen said, “Being a Lion of Judah empowers us to lead with our philanthropy and be role models, to put Jewish values into action, to think about the causes we wish to support, and to express our commitment to our Jewish community and to Israel”.
Ambassador Regev paid tribute to the dedication of UK Lions and noted that this was the first women only event he had hosted at his official residence.
This year, the UK’s 45 Lions have raised £135,000 for UJIA-supported Youth Futures mentoring scheme in Israel, and 3 local UK charities.
The Lions of Judah are women who are passionate about Israel and their communities’ future, wanting to inspire young people to connect to their heritage and help create the next generation of leadership.
