Succah in the City 2016
On Wednesday 19 September, UJIA held Succah in the City 2016, a lunch event with views of the Thames, The Shard and London Bridge.
Guest speaker, Itzik Zivan, spoke about social enterprise, and his own work for Al Sanabel in Migdal HaEmek, a social enterprise providing hot meals for children at risk, funded by UJIA.
Itzik explained the necessity of bridging the socio-economic gap in Israel, that UJIA is working hard to close. Itzik said that “we do not have the luxury of ignoring a very young society… it is in our national mission to allow them to develop their potential, and use it.”
UJIA Trustee, Jonathan Morris, reiterated the importance of supporting the people of Israel. He explained that “for over 60 years UJIA have been responsible for ensuring that generation after generation of UK Jews have a strong commitment to the people of Israel.” UJIA “invest in Israel to improve the lives of those living on Israel’s social and economic periphery.”
