UJIA Legal Group: Cocktails and Canapes
130 people attended our Legal Group’s lively panel event, “Cocktails & Current Affairs” held at Berwin Leighton Paisner in London Bridge. The Guardian’s Jonathan Freedland chaired an animated discussion about the EU referendum, anti-Semitism and the US elections, with questions and answers taken by panellists Luciana Berger MP, author Howard Jacobson and writer/producer Dan Patterson.
UJIA Trustee and Legal Group Chair, Samantha Leek QC, spoke about UJIA and our projects in the UK and Israel, and the event raised £15,000 for UJS and the Galil-based Youth Futures project. UJS allows our young people on campus to connect to Israel and their Jewish identity and through Youth Futures, we are providing mentors to at-risk children to help them succeed.
