Israel: Get Connected – Gallery

July 9, 2015 | See UJIA

The Embassy of Israel, the Jewish Agency for Israel and UJIA brought 350 sixth form pupils from across the UK together for the second annual “Israel: Get Connected” conference, held at JFS in Kingsbury.

Students attended from JFS, King Solomon High School, King David High School, Manchester, Yavneh College and Yavneh Boys and Girls in Manchester. Each pupil selected 3 sessions to attend out of 20 on offer, covering all aspects of Israel, including Street Hebrew, Israel: A Startup Nation and Understanding the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. During the day, as well as attending sessions, pupils had an opportunity to learn more from many organisations exhibiting in the Israel Fair, including Israeli Universities, The Union of Jewish Students, MASA gap year programmes and more.

Opening the day, HE Ambassador Daniel Taub said: “It is wonderful to see so many students here today, ready to discover new aspects of Israel and Israeli society”. Addressing the students he said: “We hope that today will be the start of your journey to get more closely connected with Israel. We want you to find your passion – if it’s hi-tech, music, film, social justice or anything else – and use it to build your own personal bridge to Israel.”
