WHAT IS A LEGACY?
THE PROMISE AND YOU. LEAVING A LEGACY TO UJIA

Your will distributes your estate through gifts, known as legacies. There are different types and they can be subject to certain conditions.

Legacies fall into three categories:

Specific – such as stocks and shares, jewellery, etc

Fixed – gifts expressed as a sum of money

Residuary – a share of the estate that remains

You may also make a legacy conditional, for example, delaying payment until a named beneficiary reaches a certain age; or giving a beneficiary an entitlement only to the income from a legacy and not the capital.
