The UJIA Informal Education Department specialises in the creation of Israel Engagement educational programmes in the UK and in Israel aimed at young British Jews. The role of UJIA Israel Engagement Educator is a crucial part of the team within the Department that plans and delivers this work.
The role is to support the development of Hadracha, Informal Jewish Education and Israel Education both within UJIA and amongst our many partner organisations. In addition, your skills will be utilised at different times by other UJIA colleagues in the UK and in Israel.
This dynamic educational role aims to enhance knowledge of Israel among young British Jews, with a focus on the issues facing Israeli Arabs. This will take place within the wider context of UJIA’s commitment to a strong British Jewry with a lifelong commitment to Israel and our mission to develop informed, confident Jews who are inspired by Israel.
The Israel Engagement Educator will work with young people and students in both formal and informal settings, implementing the youth and student engagement strategy. The role involves the creation of engaging educational resources and working with a wide range of partners to raise awareness of the subject area and enrich understanding of the Israel of today.
We are looking for an organised and committed team member to join UJIA Manchester. You will be creating and leading inspirational events run by the UJIA regional offices, as well as providing administrative support to the Regional Director.
This is a rewarding position for someone with excellent efficiency and attention to detail, strong administrative skills and a passion for the UK Jewish community.
We are looking for a dynamic person who can engage with young people across the country and promote Masa Israel Journey.
Masa offers young adults between the ages of 18 and 30 immersive, life-changing gap year, study abroad, post-college and volunteer experiences in Israel. In this role, you will connect potential participants to programmes that meet their interests, offer scholarships, provide expertise, and support them throughout the entire process.
To achieve this you will organise and run recruitment events across the UK, as well as other Masa and Israel-related programmes, while developing new opportunities to increase the number of recruits.
You will need to be a confident public speaker with strong interpersonal skills and be able to work well independently, as well as part of a team.
Masa is a joint project of the Government of Israel and the Jewish Agency for Israel. In the UK, UJIA is the gateway to Masa Israel. This role is part of the UJIA Informal Education Department and UJS and you would work closely with both teams.
